Der heute von Chivas Brothers produzierte Ballantine’s Blendet Whisky wurde von George Ballantine 1865 entwickelt. Seit 1881 wird der Blend von George Ballantine & Son Ltd. weltweit exportiert. Für die Herstellung von Ballantine’s werden Malt und Grain Whiskys aus allen vier Whiskyregionen Schottlands - den Lowlands, den Highlands, Speyside und den Inseln - ausgewählt.
Ballantine´s Finest wird seit 1910 unverändert aus mehr als fünfzig Single Malts (mit Miltonduff und Glenburgie als Lead Malts) und vier Grains hergestellt.
